Echo's story...

Hi, I’m Echo. I am a beautiful 5 yr old female German Shepherd who was surrendered to A Better Life when my owner’s life turned upside down and he had to suddenly move and give me up. It was a devastating experience.

I am now in a loving foster home and I’m doing extremely well. I have been working really hard on training and have learnt to heel, sit and wait for the leash to be put on; I sit at the gate to wait for it to be opened at walk time. I know what it means when you say “bed time” and I really know the word “cookie” but I always politely raise my paw first. I am learning the “leave it” command for when I see those squirrels I really want to chase, it works good on cats too!!

I will sit by the door if I want to go outside, and will let you know when I want back in and I really enjoy laying outside watching over the house most of the time. Because of my breed, I really need to be a member of the family and am an indoor dog. I don’t do crates, and don’t like to be locked away from my humans. I do need a yard with a high fence though, anything less than 4 feet – I can easily jump over it.

I am good with being left alone in the house for a few hours, but currently I have other dogs to keep me company so it’s unknown what I would be like if I was left completely alone, so if you have another dog it would suite me just fine.

I still need to work on a few manners when greeting new people when they come to visit as I just love them and want them to know it so I tend to get super excited, but we are currently working on that one and I’m coming along nicely.

All in all, I would make a wonderful loyal addition to your family.

My adoption fee is $350.
