Harlo's story...

Hi, I’m Harlo, a very gentle and great natured 1-year-old chihuahua/corgi mix. I am a perfect mellow guy that loves being around people and other animals. Even though I am somewhat timid, I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body and am great with other dogs, cats and kids. My foster parents also have a guinea pig and I love to look at him but I never touch.

I really like being outside…going for daily walks or a a trip to the dog park which is my favorite place, or just laying in the sun. I am so quiet that no one has even heard me bark. I am just about the most polite and well mannered dog you will ever meet. I eat only food that I know is mine and I do not beg. I am non destructive with everything and anything that is not mine. Sweet doesn’t even begin to describe me. No one could ask for a nicer dog than me.

But I am a special needs dog. I have epilepsy that causes me to have the occasional seizure. Now that I am on anti-seizure medication, things are much better – my seizures seems to occur like clockwork one day every 30 days. I will need to stay on the anti-seizure medication for the rest of my life, which costs about $60 a month. But I am SO worth it, I am such a lovable little dude who will make a loyal, loving buddy for anyone.

My adoption fee is $350.

** Update **

Since we have had Harlo he has really come out of his shell. He is one of the calmest dogs I have ever met with a great disposition. He is a real cuddler (as you can see from the photos. He also really enjoys the company of other dogs, people and especially children. We have never seen or heard him bark. Harlo is a special needs dog who suffers from epilepsy. However, we have had him for almost one month and he has not suffered any seizures. Harlo would be a great dog and any family would be lucky to have him.
